Dancing With Dad
It’s dancing time. Dress up in your best clothes and hit the dance floor. If there’s not an event to attend, set up your own party right in your own living room.
Verse to Share
Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. Psalm 149:3 NIV
Devotional
Dancing can be a lot of fun. It’s great exercise and keeps you healthy. It makes you feel great, cheers you up, and makes you smile from ear to ear. No doubt, dancing is a good thing. In Psalms, we discover that dancing can also be a way of praising God. Dance to express your love for God. Dance to honor his goodness and loving kindness. Dance to let others know that God is a mighty, powerful, and oh so good to you and me. Dance your heart out, Sweetheart. Dance, dance, dance! Now of course, there are dances that do not glorify God. Stay clear of those and dance in a way that pleases your Father in heaven. Be a witness to others and let them see the reason behind your dance. They will see that the spring in your step does not come from money, the latest toy, fashion, or gadget.
You’re joy comes from the Lord. Your feet, arms, and legs and expressing your heart’s song. So the next time you feel blue, glide across the dance floor. When you are happy and want to celebrate, dance away the night. Dance when you are happy, dance when you are sad, and dance when you don’t know how to feel.
Praise God with dancing and see how he moves you.
