“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

When you fly at kite, you are at the mercy of the wind. You cannot make a kite float up in the air. You have to rely on the gust of wind to send it flying. Without
wind, you might as well use that kite as a picnic blanket. In the same way, we cannot expect to get very far in life without the refreshing wind of God. He makes
it all happen. We can try to do it all on our own, but like the kite without wind, we won’t be going anywhere. Many times we think we can use our muscles to make things happen. We can work harder, study more, practice extra, and make a bright future for ourselves. I’ve got bad news for you. It doesn’t work that way. You thoughts are not His thoughts. Your ways are not His ways. Our Heavenly Father knows best. He knows what we are good at, what we like and dislike, and what will make us the happiest. Why wouldn’t you want His help? So, the next time you have high flying plans, stop trying to do it all by yourself. Talk to God. Pray and ask how He wants you to do things for a change. You might just be surprised at the fresh breath of air He brings to the situation. With God holding the kite, the sky is the limit!
