THE PHONE
SAY IT: Memory Verse: Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3 NIV
HEAR IT: The Whys
Mommy, why does it rain?
Mommy, why are green beans green?
Mommy, why does the dog’s breath stink?
Mommy, why does Sissy stick her tongue out at me?
Mommy why, why, WHY????
I suspect when you were little you asked a lot of “why” questions too. Now that you’re older, you figure things out on your own by thumbing through a book or searching on the Internet. However, there are answers you will never find online or between dusty book pages. Answers to questions like... Who should I be friends with? Which tough choice should I make at school today? What are my talents? And maybe even… Who should I marry? (But no marrying until your 30, okay Sweetie?) Thankfully we have God to help us with these unsearchable questions. He asks us to call. No phone is necessary. Just start talking, and God is listening. Now that’s a high tech device! You can even think the prayer in your mind and He hears you. What an awesome God we serve! Just remember… The Answer is only a call away.

STUDY IT: Daniel’s Day in the Den
Daniel was having a pretty rough day. That’s the biggest understatement in the WORLD! He went from being the head honcho, in charge of the kingdom, to sitting smack dab in a den of hungry lions. Yep, you could say it was a bad day for Daniel. However, that didn’t get him down. He prayed, prayed, and PRAYED to the Lord. What else could you do when you are staring straight into the blood stained teeth of terrifying predators? I’m sure Daniel could have called out to his friends, his distant relatives, or his earthly king Darius, but instead he called out to God. And God came to the rescue. He showed up, superhero style, and shut those lions’ mouths and let Daniel just chill among them until morning. Only God can turn ferocious beasts into harmless kitty cats. Now that’s the God I want to serve! King Darius thought the same thing after witnessing this miraculous sight. One prayer, one peaceful night with the lions led to a whole kingdom turning their hearts to God. So, the next time you have some trouble, remember our friend Daniel and his prayer. If God can take care of Daniel, in a lion’s den, he can certainly handle any trouble that comes your way. What are you waiting for… call to God. He’s waiting to hear from you!

Discussion Question:
In this activity, sound waves travel to your ears to create these unusual sounds. Each day, we have a choice to make. We can choose sounds, music, and words that help us or harm us. How do we know what sounds and words are right for us? Who should we ask for answers to these questions and more? These are some of the unsearchable questions we should ask our Heavenly Father. Call now, he’s waiting on the line.
LIVE IT: Calling God
God wants to hear from you. He wants you to call to him, talk to him, and cry out to him. Maybe you need to ask Him about a friend who is causing trouble at school, an illness a neighbor is fighting, or a problem that just won’t disappear. Call to Him every day and in every way. God is listening! He will listen about your friends, your family, your feelings, and your dreams. You can’t expect to remain best friends with someone if you never talk to them. You wouldn’t know anything about your friend if you never spoke. What kind of friendship would that be? Best friends spend time together sharing secrets that only they know. They laugh at jokes and tell stories only they understand. Those special secrets and stories make up the friendship. It’s the same with God. You can’t expect to know God, really know God, unless you spend time talking and listening to Him. God has some secrets in store for you. I can’t wait to hear the unsearchable things God has planned! Stand back Sister- something great is headed your way!
